2006 Season Review: Finished 18th in championship points.

Scored his fist win of the season in only his second series start of 2006. After a solid eight-place run at Manzanita Speedway, he picked the win in the series inaugural visit to USA Race Park in Tucson.

Reeled off three straight Top-10 finishes in April, including a seventh at Eldora Speedway, which is owned by his car owner, NASCAR star Tony Stewart. He followed that up by setting a new track record at U.S. 36 Raceway in Missouri, turning a blazing fast lap of 9.846 seconds. He finished fifth in the feature that night.

He picked up another Top-10 at Eldora in the Kings Royal, and backed that up with an eight-place finish in the finale of the Princeton Nationals at Princeton (Minn.) Speedway.

Returning to the West Coast for a portion of the Gold Rush Tour, McMahan turned in five straight Top-10 runs. The streak began at Southern Oregon Speedway, when he finished fourth. Returning to his state and Calistoga (Calif.), he picked up a runner-up finish on the preliminary night and followed that up with a solid sixth in the finale. At the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar (Calif.) Speedway, he was fourth on the first preliminary night and backed that up with a fifth in the finale.

The season wrapped up with three straight Top-10 finishes, beginning with a 10th at USA Race Park, followed by a fifth in the preliminary night at The Dirt Track @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and a fourth in the season finale.
